Thursday 17th May at 8pm will be an awareness and fundraising evening for people who live with neurofibromatosis and their friends, family and supporters.
We're delighted that Taurus restaurant and bar in Canal Street have given space for free for this event.
The up and coming comedienne Katie McCabe will be performing and we will be holding a raffle and auction with extra special prizes and items to make bids for.
There will be an opportunity to hear some moving testimonies of what it is like to live with neurofibromatosis which we hope will inspire people to let other people know about this condition and perhaps think of doing a bit of fundraising for the Neuro Foundation themselves.
The theme of the evening is "Dress to Impress, Dress to Inspire" be as imaginative and outrageous as you like...it is Canal Street after all. We want a party !
My civil partner, Sara Livesey, lives with neurofibromatosis and in recent years she has become visually impaired, had major back surgery, developed epilepsy and developed cognitive difficulties because of it. so awareness and fundraising is important to both of us.
We are especially pleased for the support shown by Taurus as it is where we had our first date more than ten years ago !
