MayThe sun is in the earth sign of Taurus until 20th May. It’s time to slow down and consolidate on all those initiatives we set rolling under Aries. We all feel a bit more cautious right now, wanting to check out the long term implications before we commit. Taurus is associated with gardening, farming, art, building, money, investments and singing and dancing, comfort (good food and drink), pleasant surroundings (colour, sofas, soft furnishings) and sensuality. In short, whatever will improve our comfort, sensual well being and long term security. So when the sun is in the sign of Taurus we might all like to look to our long term savings plans and investments. What security so we have financial and otherwise? Is there any way we can make our homes of offices more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing? It’s time to get out in the garden and create beauty or grow food. Try out new recipes that will make the taste buds sizzle. Taurus is also a very sensual sign. So time to enjoy hot scented baths, perfumed candles and lazy lingering Sunday mornings with your lover. Remember, Taurus doesn’t rush, so take your time and discover the pleasures of real slow! The new moon in Taurus is on 5th May. It’s our monthly ‘seeding time’, especially in relation to matters ruled by Taurus. This is the first of five Supermoons this year. A Supermoon is when the moon is at its closest to the earth, so there is more gravitational pull on land and water, generating more extreme tides and tectonic activity. Our bodies and psyches are more strongly affected as well, undergoing wider swings of emotions and more profound realisations. This new moon connects with the last solar eclipse on February 6th and so it nudges us towards the goals we envisioned three months ago. Venus, the ruler of Taurus lines up favourably with powerful Pluto and sensible Saturn in earth signs during the opening days of May. Venus rules relationships and the things we value. So, it’s a good time to manifest our desires. Saturn is standing still in Virgo, reconnecting us with issues started last September. Saturn has been travelling backwards since mid December, making us go back over old ground in business affairs. From 3rd May he’s moving forward again so there’s a now green light and time to step on the gas. Jupiter, currently moving through Saturn’s sign of Capricorn, emphasising the need for realistic planning and sensible solutions, turns around on 9th May. It will be travelling backwards until early September, calling us to review the rules, laws, agreements we have made and to revamp or abolish those out of alignment with our principles and beliefs. The full moon on 20th May asks us how well we are taking care of our bodies and resources (including the planet). There is a lot of emphasis on earth signs right now making us aware of rising food and fuel prices, how we use the land and long term security. We’re not up in the clouds right now but firmly on the ground, facing credit crunch and the bottom line. The sun moving into fun loving Gemini on 20th lightens things up a bit. Time to network, tell jokes and spread information around. Be child like and curious. Buy a balloon and a colouring set. Mercury, the ruler of Gemini turns retrograde on 26th (till 19th June) so get any important messages out before then. Venus is in Taurus until 25th May, so enjoy the sensual things in life with your lover. After that Venus moves into Gemini where she likes to flirt and do silly things. Mars changes sign from home loving Cancer to firey Leo on 10th. Time to flaunt your creativity and fight for your honour. If Taurus is your sun sign, rewarding days are 4th, 5th and 31st, challenging days are 17th, 18th, 19th. If you’re a Gemini, rewarding days are 6th and 7th, challenging days are 20th, 21st, 22nd.
